Defintions
De-Roleing: “The act of being able to step away from your character and return to self (Safe Sets, 2023)
Emotional Dysregulation: “a mental health symptom that involves trouble controlling your emotions and how you act on those feelings” (Cleveland Clinic, 2023).
Emotional Intelligence: “the ability to manage both your own emotions and understand the emotions of people around you” (Mental Health America, n.d.).
Ensemble: a group, emphasizing the whole production group over a single star performer (“Ensemble,” 2024).
Hypothalamus: “the region in the ventral brain which coordinates the endocrine system” (Shahid et al., 2023).
Life-Drama Connection: “A process in which participants analyze their personal problems or issues through dramatic projection” (Ackerman, 2024).
Method Acting: “The use of one’s own life experiences in the creative imagination infuses each choice with genuine thought, desire, sensation, action and feeling resulting in psychologically in-depth behavior” (Foy, 2021).
Mimesis: imitation, mimicry (“Mimesis,” n.d.)
Platform: A raised surface for actors to stand on.
